ACT Schools Cup
There is a new event on the snow sports calendar in 2010, the ACT Schools Cup, to be held on Sunday August 29 at Mother-In-Law, Perisher. The ACT Schools Cup is an Alpine and Snowboard GS race open to school students in the ACT.
This new race is being scheduled to occur after the ACT-Southern NSW Interschools, and just before the Nationals. This timing will provide those athletes that have qualified for Nationals with a high quality race to hone their skills, and importantly also provide an aspirational end-of-season race event for other students.
Participants will compete in their Interschools Division (Division 1 - Years 11 and 12, Division 2 - Years 9 and 10, Division 3 - Years 7 and 8, Division 4 - Years 5 and 6 and Division 5 - Years 4 and below).
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female individuals in each division. A point score of the individual results will be calculated to award the overall Male and Female ACT School Cups.
We would like this to become an annual event that will be held for years to come. The Male and Female ACT School Cups, once awarded, will be engraved with the school name and awarded again each year.
Event entry is $30. Entries can be completed through the Interschools Online Entry System.
