ACT Athletes invited to apply for NSW Snowsports Talented Athlete Camp

ACT athletes are invited to apply for the NSW Snowsports Talented Athlete Camp (NTAC), which is designed to introduce and support emerging athletes to understand the fundamental aspects of elite level training.

NTAC key objectives include:

  • Providing a base program for young athletes to learn about the process and complexities involved in moving from amateur sport to elite level sport.
  • Empower athletes to make effective decisions in improving their overall health and improvement in their chosen disciplines
  • Provide fundamental education on the requirements of being an elite athlete
  • Provide an opportunity for stakeholders to come together and ask a range of questions in order to consolidate their understanding of key athlete requirements
  • Assist athletes and parents to understand the role of NSWS and how to access key athlete pathways

NTAC consists of a Dryland Training and Lectures Series, as well as an At-Snow Component.

The NTAC Dryland Camp is an all day camp and is scheduled for the Sunday 4th of June in Sydney. Further details will be available in 2017. The NTAC Dryland Camp includes a High Intensity Cardiovascular training, Rehabilitation and Recovery Session including Ice Baths, Spas, Foam Rolling and Stretching Techniques.

Parents and athletes will attend panel discussions and lectures on Sport’s Psychology, Q&A with a selection of Australia’s elite athletes, and Snowsports Pathways from development to sub-elite and all the way to Winter Olympics.

The At-Snow Component will include a choice of SSA Futures Camps, Event or Training support to assist the Athlete on within their current pathway.
